BEST ONE-YEAR tai chi courses

The Complete range offers 2 courses focusing on forms (37 Step Short Form and 32 Step Sword Form) and 2 courses that offer a broader, more open approach to Tai Chi - the Tai Chi Health and Fitness Training - and the popular Complete Tai Chi year course.

WHICH COURSE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Tai Chi is often taught as if it were a fixed routine that you should memorise and practice daily. But this approach emphasises a lot of memory and posture repetition. The Complete Tai Chi Course chooses a different path, placing equal emphasis on understanding, building balance, coordination and movement skills, as well as a dozen of the most important Tai Chi moves. It also covers history, qigong, taoism, popular culture and applications and comes with 12 ebooks (one for each section of the course)

Should you prefer the more traditionally taught sequences, then look at the 37 Step Short form. It teaches this classic form in a novel way, with video, audio and PDFs building the sequence into a thorough course backed up by history and context.

MOVE: BREATHE: FOCUS

Back in 2007, during one sweltering, humid afternoon, this black and white video was shot in the old attic of a house in the middle of Andalusia, Spain. The film was shortlisted at a film festival in Madrid later that year and features clips from the 37 Step Cheng Man-ch'ing Tai Chi Form (with Dr Chi’s additional postures.)
